Duck Trails

With temperatures dropping, thicker layers of ice are forming on the lake and creek.  These ducks, however, found a trail between one side of the lake and the other.  When I encroached upon their territory this morning, they quickly swam from one side to the other.

This goose was not so fortunate as to have landed on open water.  He spent some time walking until he eventually found water he could swim in.

Actually, most of the water was NOT open, most is layered over with ice.
