From a Carpet of Leaves

Ever wonder what happens to all the leaves that fall from the trees in a forest?  They carpet the ground with color in the fall, but by spring, they look more like the color of dirt.  Which is what they eventually become.  They become part of the soil to nourish a new carpet of green plant life.

Many new sprouts were visible today.

Some I know will be a fresh carpet of a new color when they bloom.
