Heat advisory warning today through Wednesday morning. I got out before it started. I could not find traces of the painted turtle nests, except perhaps one that a predator got to. The incubation for painted turtle eggs is 72 to 80 days (August/September.) These turtles sometimes dig 'decoy' nests.
Warm temperatures are opening these pink buds.
Prairie Roses are opening near the far bridge.
This one looks nibbled on.
The warm temperatures did not hamper six-spotted tiger beetles from mating.
Be careful at the park today. Make sure you have water and don't over do it. I'd hate to hear of anyone suffering heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
Hope you enjoyed!
