The stacatto pecking of a woodpecker was often interrupted by the sound of large chiseled bark chunks hitting the ground. A Hairy Woodpecker was active and diligent as the sun set.
He wasn't the only one lively. I caught this muskrat chasing a duck. The duck was not happy.
Change is in the air and it makes for some rambunctious wildlife at the park.

Yesterday sited two more incidents of muskrats chasing down ducks in two locations downstream from the lake. One pounced from the shore.
