While on my walk Saturday, I noticed some strange bulges on the wild rose stems near the marsh road. No, the roses are not pregnant, this is a twig gall on a wild rose. If all goes well, Diplolepis spinosa (gall wasp) will emerge later in the year. Click the link to see a series of related photos.
