Above is a Suphur Cinquefoil. The pale yellow color adds a soft touch to summer. It also has been used by the Okanagan-Colville Indians for a poultice applied to open sores and wounds. The whole plan has agents that cause tissue to contract. In contrast to the helpful flower is the Hoary Alyssum, an invasive plant known to be toxic for horses.
Enjoy!
