What happens to butterflies in winter?  Not an easy question to answer.  Different butterflies winter differently.  The butterflies on this page are currently sleeping as adults somewhere near the park.

More Butterflies













There were a couple more butterflies out to sun today.  The top one is an Eastern Comma.   Click on the name to read details of sightings of this butterfly in our neighboring Wisconsin.  The one on the side is a Mourning Cloak trying to find a spot in the sun with less wind.
