Progressing . . .

In the forest and along the marsh road, White Snakeroot are progressing.  Some are just starting to open.  Some are in transition, and some have gone to fluffy seed. One has made a fine perch for a predator.

Spring Bubbles

Ever noticed that that there are more bubbles in the spring?  Between the frothing run-off and the earth starting to soak up the extra water, bubbles seem to be everywhere.

White Snakeroot

White Snakeroot is progressing in the shaded areas.  These were found along the marsh road.  Although many are just starting, some have already gone to seed.  This plant is poisonous to animals and humans.  American Indians used this plant in a poultice to treat snakebite, maybe that is how it got its name.
