Although today was chilly again (windchill -10F/-23C), the forecast is warmer with temperatures expected to reach above freezing several days in a row. Even in the coldness of today, there is a thinness in the snow that is hard to describe. As though the snow underneath is warming from sunshine that penetrates below the surface.
Some of the melting is visible. But most is not. That is not the only change ...
It looks like the bulldozer got too close to the creek. The upturned ice is over a foot thick. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, probably not. Also, I noticed a fresh layer of straw further down along the creek. The mud from the marsh makes it hard to see what is creek and what is marsh mud. A mystery as to what they are up to.
