Today was much like yesterday with one exception: wind. Wind-blown snow covered the trail completely in some places and creates sometimes unusual textures. Fallen tree seeds make for the bumpy texture in this next picture. I noticed that many shed in this area yesterday.
I haven't visited the forest in a while, so decided to forge in today.
With the bare tree canopies, the floor of the forest gets more sun than most times of the year. Yet the brush density provides some protection from the wind and more leaves remain on plants here than out in the open. Some still have lovely color and detail.
Hope you enjoyed!
