September purples and golds

Many new things sited at the park today.  At least new to me.  Discovered colorful evidence of decay on a tree.  Found mysterious hole in the ground that might be evidence of water mammals?  

Also captured many wildflowers.  Unfortunately, I can not share them all.

September colors at the park are predominately purple and yellow right now.  Those are more like Easter colors than fall.  Perhaps it is a reminder that although evidence of things drying up and decaying has begun, there is promise of resurrection.  Promise of new life to come after the fall and winter.
