Color through the Overcast

Today was overcast and dreary in some ways.  Although there are wind advisories, I didn't notice more wind than usual at the park.  There were some sprinkles and gusts but not wind like the day it blew hair off the cattails!

The damp darkened some things and provided contrast to bring out more yellows and reds and whites.  It has  a charm of its own.

Some of the weeds have fallen and the lake was more visible in places.  I like this shot because aside from the branch you can see the detail of the dried reeds and grasses with small white flowers and even a milkweed pod along the shoreline.

Where the reds are still turning, they popped out brightly.
