Sugar'd Maple Morning

Brisk this morning with temperatures below zero, but beautiful.  Many of the smaller birds were back to the reeds.  Perhaps they had taken cover in peoples backyards or in the thicker brush areas of the park.  The frost gave everything a sugar'd appearance.

Even the flowers did not escape.

I spied a water mammal this morning too - to be more accurate, THREE of them.  I'm not exactly sure what they might be.  Perhaps muskrat?  Anyone have some tips on how to long-distance identify these?

These guys are early risers and disappear with the suns appearing.
