Pockets of Green

For the most part, Minnesota wintry landscapes look white with leafless trees and dried weeds and grass stalks poking up here and there.  As a child, I wondered how Minnesotans could possibly get enough oxygen from such a land.  Today I noted several patches of green peeking through. There is green. It just is hiding under the blankets of snow and dried leaves.

Snow storms are predicted for tomorrow.  These will get a fresh blanket to keep them snug in the cooler temperatures sure to come.

This day twenty-five years ago, there was also a storm.  It was so bad that the doctor came and got me with his four wheel drive vehicle.  It wasn't long after arriving at the hospital that my oldest son was born.  My husband got stuck in the snow on the way there from his work.  He had to run several blocks in the snow to get there in time for the birth.  Amazing start for a special and much loved young man.  Happy Birthday darling!

Hope you enjoyed!
