Red-bellies

The early afternoon brought a warmer breeze and melting.  The sky was blue with white lilting clouds.  At the bridge, I spied what we in Minnesota call a sign of spring: a robin!

On the road by the marsh, I spied another "red-bellied" bird ... a red-bellied woodpecker!

I know .. I know ... he doesn't really have a red belly, but that is what he is.

I caught him most digging into what is probably his stockpile,
