Sometimes they are called yellow flag. They are right at the lake shore near the playground.
And the swelling buds opened:
Prairie Roses.
This shy flower blooms more in the afternoon and has finally been identified as
Wild Four O'Clock. It is growing among the hillside rocks on the creek side path.
There is also a large clump of Bittersweet Nightshade flowering on the creek peninsula. They are near the run-off drain. There were a few more wildflower discoveries, but I'll save some for tomorrow! ;-)
Hope you enjoyed!
