Flowers Bursting in the Sky

The day was wet and stormy.  It didn't look good for the fireworks.  But by nine, the sky started to clear, making for a colorful sunset.

Stiff competition for the firework display later in the evening.

There was plenty to occupy while waiting for the sky to dim.  Carnival rides and music.  Food and games.  Or if you were like us, swatting mosquitoes because of forgotten bug spray! 

Finally it was dark enough, the firework display was like buds bursting in spring ... only much faster!
