Of Cats and Ants

A new flower is opening along the marsh road.

Catnip is starting to bloom.

The creek has random gatherings of small black fish.These are catfish.  They sometimes swarm into a large moving black mass.  A walker let me know of yet another mass movement.

He described it as looking like water on the path.  Here it looks kind of like dirt.  Here is a close-up:

It isn't water or dirt - it is moving day for a colony of ants!
