These photos were taken October 13, 2011. The photo above is matured seed pods from the Wild White Indigo. Such a delightful paradox that something that flowers bright white produces black beauties.
To the right is a darkened and dried purple cone flower's of some variety. These normally appear black. But the sunset has colored them a rich brown. Below are more cone flowers, they are a favorite for migrating birds and a grasshopper's twilight resting place.
