More Spring Arrivals

Jack-in-the-pulpits are starting to come up.  Large-flowered Bellwort are coming up too.  The flower will droop downward once the flower opens.

Found a couple of Six Spotted Tiger Beetles playing along the marsh road.

But also an invader is starting to blossom.  Pretty as the Garlic Mustard is, it spreads easy and can take over areas quickly.  I've read they are edible!

Enjoy!

Garlic Mustard

This years crop of Garlic Mustard is starting to bloom at the park.  This interesting flower is invasive.  However, it is also considered both a tasty and nutritious edible wildflower.  One of the local parks had a harvesting event.  I must admit that I have not been so adventurous to try it myself.

Enjoy!
