Squirreling Around on Labor Day

We enjoyed a nice time with my parents at Bay Point Park in Red Wing, Minnesota this Labor Day.  The squirrels at that park are quite friendly.  This female eastern grey squirrel notices a "regular" approaching, and her cute poses did not go unrewarded.

The man told me that these are bold little squirrels and do their part to keep the park clean.  They pick up the picnic leftovers.

Something spooked her up a tree.  But before long, she was ready for more.

The squirrels are wary of the nearby eagles and may be hiding if one is flying near by.

Snow and Blustery Wind

As the New Year rang in, the snow was already falling. Most of the snow that accumulated on branches blew off by morning.  Blizzard like winds made for a chill, yet white day.  We spent the day in Red Wing with my folks.  This photo was taken from their window.  Do you see the snow blowing across the road?

As blustery as the wind was, I have to admit that there was a rest in my soul at seeing snow again.

I expect that the new year will bring new adventures and fresh beginnings.

Enjoy!
