The forecast was for rain this afternoon, but that was thwarted by a brisk wind. The afternoon sky had rolling clouds with mostly sunshine. It would have been a perfect day except for the biting winds.
The forest surrounding the service road provided shelter from the wind. A fly took refuge there.
A female Downey Woodpecker wasn't effected by the wind either.
A male was nearby, but he took cover in the brush below.
