Once Upon a Swamp Milkweed ...

There are many groupings of Swamp Milkweed plants along the lake.  Today, these mainly held my interest.
This flower is in multiple stages right now.
This Ambush Bug looks the same shade as the newly emerging pods.  A master of camouflage this bug hunts other bugs ... mostly larger ones.
The milkweed bug is a common bug and likes to hang out on all kinds of milkweeds.  These are in abundance later in the fall.
This one is not a bug but a beetle.  A beetled named for the plant. A Swamp Milkweed Beetle.
This Eastern Carpenter Bee is one of many pollinators that visit this plant.
Moths and butterflies were present too.  This is an unidentified skipper.  Maybe you know which one it is?

I also saw a Monarch and Hummingbird Clearwing Moth, as well as European Paper Wasps and Baldfaced Hornets.  There just was not enough room to show them all!

Enjoy!
