A flock of American Goldfinch, mostly juvenile, were enjoying breakfast this morning. It was hard to catch them on camera without their beaks busy!

When approaching the lake outlet this morning, I heard a plop-splash. A muskrat must have thought it was greener on the other side of the lake outlet. He was enjoying a nice water-plant breakfast.

Sunday's walk brought me to a small group of Willow Flycatchers. They were darting from a fallen branch in the lake and the lake shore. They were most likely gathering a nice Sunday breakfast of grubs and insects. I think they were as curious about me as I was about them.

Early morning is the best time for fishing. Or so this Great Blue Heron thought. Specially shaped neck vertebrae allow this bird to curl their neck into an 'S' shape to quickly strike prey at a distance.
Should be a beautiful day.
