Damsels

There are many damselflies congregating just off the lake shore in the tall grass.  Most of these are some kind of bluet.

In the photo above, how many damselflies can you find?  I see nine!

Enjoy!

Spread Wing Damselfly

When at rest, many damselflies rest with their wings next to their bodies.  There are some, though, that rest spread wing.   Found this one along the forest edge near the creek.

Enjoy!

Damselfly Bad Hair Day?

There were several damsel flies near the creek early on Friday morning.  The close-ups are fun.  I never realized how hairy they can be.  Some look like they are having a bad hair day.

Enjoy!

Of Flowers and Damsels

Among the Canada Anemone these little flower crab spiders sometimes hunt.  They won't kill you, but their bite can be very painful.  Give them some respect.  Also along the lake among the tall grasses are many blue damselflies.

Enjoy!
