Big, Little, and In Between

I found several mushrooms and fungi while visiting French Regional park today.  The one above was bigger than a basketball.  Most likely a Giant Puffball Mushroom.  There were others very small too.

And of course, varieties in between.

Okay experts, what are these mushrooms?  I think the one on the left could be a type of Amanita, and right could some kind of parchment.

Spring Cling

Bare twigs expose the woody wild grape vines.  They cling to anything within growing reach.  

Today I found some fungi (Turkey Tail) that clung back.

Fungi Feast (Not!)

Found a new fungi today (above).  New for me anyway.  It is called Black Jellyroll, or Witches Butter.  Also found some Burnt Cake (side).  And ... Turkey Tail (below).  Almost sounds like a delicious trio - but don't - they are NOT edible.

Abandoned Nest

The leafless trees reveal abandoned nests.  But there is another kind of nest like thing in the forest near the ground.  This kind grows.  Officially this is called Poronidulus Conchifer.  There is such a thing as a 'Birds Nest Fungus' but it looks like a nest with eggs.  These nests look like the others in the forest right now: abandoned.
