Spring Signs Abundant Now

Signs of spring are abundant now.  Geese are nesting, violets and ground ivy are scattering hints of purple, turtles are coming out bask and muskrats are flirting.

Yes, spring is definitely in the air.

Enjoy!

Sunday Seconds

Many Philadelphia Fleabane are flowering along the marsh road.  Some Giant Chickweed can also be found.  And near the lake, I spied a patient mother working on a spring clutch.

Enjoy!

Sunbathers Out

The turtles are back.  I saw them sunbathing, enjoying the late morning sun.   Watch the shoreline and approach quietly.  They are quite shy and spook easily.  This is my first sighting of the year.  Maybe you saw them earlier?
Enjoy!

Crossing

This little lady just crossed Boone Avenue.  She is so much shorter than the curb, I was sure she might need help.  No worries, this female painted turtle had it covered.
Enjoy!
