Rev 22:1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the 5throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street. ~~~ Live in the USA? Get a free Bible and free Christian books

Sunday Seconds

Many Philadelphia Fleabane are flowering along the marsh road.  Some Giant Chickweed can also be found.  And near the lake, I spied a patient mother working on a spring clutch.

Enjoy!

Silhouette Reminder ...

My camera is in the shop and will be for at least a week.  I thought I'd take this time to post photos from earlier that never made it to the blog.  This one was taken November 13, 2011.  The swell in the branch silhouette suggests a nest from earlier in 2011.

Growing up Fast!

Boy did these Barn swallow babies grow up fast!  Seems like just yesterday they were featherless with their eyes shut.

There is still a little puffy hair feathers around the ears, but otherwise, they look almost grown up.

Enjoy!

Snappy Mama

Early morning a female common snapping turtle was busy near the creek path.  She was laying her eggs.  Her young have many predators nearby.  She herself can be 'harvested' by humans once her carapace length is greater than 30.5 cm (12 in.)   Many people think turtle meat is tasty.  I remember eating turtle as a child in Southeastern MN.

Mean while, Near the Bridge ...

Perhaps I should say UNDER the bridge.  Barn swallows are busy with nests.  See the mud nest at the top of the photo just left of the lit beam?  If you look carefully, you can see one flying in the shadow on his way out.

Below the bridge, a muskrat was gathering.

Lots of sunshine.  Hope you had a chance to ...

Scram!

A male Mallard was being particularly territorial.  This young male took the strong 'hint' and flew off.  After the threat was gone, he returned to a female sitting on the grassy shore nearby.  Perhaps nesting?

Enjoy!
