Snow Tires

This is the first day in over two weeks that I could get out.  Cold and camera don't mix so well.  ;)

For those coming home from warmer places, thought this play on words might be a fun memory of Minne-so-cold Christmas norms.  It looks we can expect a white Christmas!

Cat Tale

Not that I have seen any take their cats for a walk at the park.  But if they did ... I think they should be forewarned that the marsh road is lined with cat distractions of the catnip variety on both sides.

IF a petal fall ...

Found this Obedient Plant near the creek outlet.  No ... I'm not that good.  Evidently a strand of spider web is suspending the petal in place.  ;-)

Four O'Clock's in the Morning

What a fun thing to say, "I was out taking pictures of Four O' Clocks this morning."  No, I was not out at 4:00 a.m.   I was out taking pictures of the native flower: Wild Four O' Clock.  


An Iowa study found that this flower does indeed open between 3:30 and 4:00 in the afternoon.  Pollination usually happens at night.  I was out early enough to catch these before they closed for the day.  I was out early ... just not THAT early.

Spring has Sprung

In the middle of forest area at the corner lot, there is a piece of old farm equipment given over to rust.   Isn't it kind of "iron"ic   that near the metal springs, evidence of spring is shooting freshly forth?
