Progressing . . .

In the forest and along the marsh road, White Snakeroot are progressing.  Some are just starting to open.  Some are in transition, and some have gone to fluffy seed. One has made a fine perch for a predator.

Enjoy!

Autumn Whites

The peninsula is lit up white with the suns falling rays. Milkweeds are not the only fall whites.

Milkweed Prime Time

Nearly all the milkweed have opened, or at least have started to open.  The park is white with fuzz!   Also of note, I found another Painted Lady butterfly today.  This kind of butterfly migrates for the winter.  I was surprised to see one so late.
Enjoy!

Fuzz Pops

At a distance the milkweed almost look like giant popped popcorn.  Milkweed of several varieties have started delivering their annual seeds to the wind for next years crop.

Enjoy!
