September!
As fall approaches, the goldenrod is in full swing. Many of the wasps and bees and even a monarch are fighting over the same flower! Also, the swamp milkweed has been popping and the milkweed bugs are starting to gather.
The bright orange one has just shed it's skin. This bug sheds its skin several times before it gets wings as an adult.

Goldenrod and ... Goldenrod
There are several varieties of Goldenrod that grow in Minnesota. My best guess is that the twins above are Canada Goldenrod. This yellow beauty is coloring the park along with a cousin. The variety on the side is probably Riddell's Goldenrod. Lovely to look at, but not the most pleasant to be around if you have allergies!

New Flowers ... Seasons Progress
Tall Goldenrod are starting to flower. Along the marsh road Wild Cucumber are in bloom. Temperatures have cooled some making for a lovely morning walk.
