"Bee"zy Place!

The Bassett Creek Regional Trail Extension project has closed more of the park down, including both bridges.  This has not stopped the other busy workers at the park.  











From bees to ambush bugs, the park it quite the busy place.

Dew Drenched Morn

Early morning covered everything with dew - from late summer  flowers to leaves on trees, even the bees!

September!

As fall approaches, the goldenrod is in full swing.  Many of the wasps and bees and even a monarch are fighting over the same flower!  Also, the swamp milkweed has been popping and the milkweed bugs are starting to gather.  

The bright orange one has just shed it's skin.  This bug sheds its skin several times before it gets wings as an adult.

Autumn Whites

The peninsula is lit up white with the suns falling rays. Milkweeds are not the only fall whites.

Goldenrod and ... Goldenrod

There are several varieties of Goldenrod that grow in Minnesota.  My best guess is that the twins above are Canada Goldenrod.  This yellow beauty is coloring the park along with a cousin.  The variety on the side is probably Riddell's Goldenrod.  Lovely to look at, but not the most pleasant to be around if you have allergies!

New Flowers ... Seasons Progress

Tall Goldenrod are starting to flower.  Along the marsh road Wild Cucumber are in bloom.  Temperatures have cooled some making for a lovely morning walk.
