The park is still under construction, with many parts not accessible yet.

Meanwhile at Eloise Butler Wildflower Gardens... Fall is starting to show herself.

Milkweed Prime Time

Nearly all the milkweed have opened, or at least have started to open.  The park is white with fuzz!   Also of note, I found another Painted Lady butterfly today.  This kind of butterfly migrates for the winter.  I was surprised to see one so late.
Enjoy!

Isn't it interesting that though the seed pods look old and dried, yet a new flower is blooming?  This is Velvet Leaf found at the landing.

Holding On

Some milkweeds have lost all of their seeds.  And some have a few still holding on ...

But some simply refuse to let go.

Going to be a nice day.

Enjoy!

Frosted Rattlesnake Master

Early morning left a thin layer of ice edging the creek banks.  Suns first light lit sparkling crystals on the plants nearby.  This one is a Rattlesnake Master covered with nicely formed crystals.

The sun should light up the fall colors nicely today.  Bundle up and enjoy!

Goldfinch Growing Up

A flock of American Goldfinch, mostly juvenile, were enjoying breakfast this morning.  It was hard to catch them on camera without their beaks busy!

Enjoy!

At a distance the milkweed almost look like giant popped popcorn.  Milkweed of several varieties have started delivering their annual seeds to the wind for next years crop.
