Duck Duck ... Muskrat!

There was commotion at the creek this morning. Ducks haven't migrated yet. Muskrats are antsy about it and ready to chase! Like a game of Duck Duck ... Muskrat.

Dozens Hidden Below

The lake outlet is down to a trickle. And below the sky rippled reflection, something is moving. Dozens and dozens of crayfish can be seen crawling around the rocks below.

Nearly all of the snow has melted. It is nice to be able to walk the lake path again. The The Red-winged blackbirds can be heard trilling their happiness. How nice to gorgeous weather after the harsh winter.

The lake ice is weakening, but still covers most of the lake. The midweek warm-up might be the breaking blow.

Beauty of the Underside

The carpet of leaves on the forest floor has a beauty all her own. When coupled with a reflective pool, it reminds me of the under wing of a butterfly.

Overcast Autumn Day

Overcast with a forecast of more wind and rain as the day goes by. The lake landing has a beautiful view reflecting more color, but the wind is starting to make some of the trees bare.

Wind, Water, and Reflection

With sun and wind, I expected the waters to be choppy all through the lake. But a line had formed. The wet ice was reflective and provided some wonderful if not curious shots.
