Spring Interrupted
This last week has been miserable with temperatures generally 20 degrees below average with wind, rain, and wintery mix. Many thought the trees would 'green up'. Apparently, it was just an interruption in spring. Warmer temperatures closer to average are predicted for this next week. Headed out there now.
Enjoy!

Thunder Snow!
The morning greeted many with a flash of light and a long thunderclap. This in the middle of heavy snow fall. The conditions of simultaneous snow and lightning are rare. This combination has a weather term: Thunder Snow.
Guess it is too early to put away the boots just yet ...

Snow Windows, Imploding Banks and More Snow
As the sun's rays melt from the top, radiant heat melts from below, forming what I call 'Snow Windows.'
The snowbanks are also imploding, displaying snow caverns from the sides fully melted away.
The snow isn't giving up that easily - the weather forecasts one more set of snow showers tonight.
Enjoy!
